"If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have already got". How many people do you see at the gym on a daily basis doing the same routine that you have seen them doing every day since you joined? A lot, I bet. And how many changes have you seen in the bodies of those repeating those same routines? None, you say?

Regardless of where you are in the Genesis Transformation Process, fueling, rotation or maintenance, the need to follow certain guidelines to maximize fat loss is the same. Your nutritional requirements as an individual are as unique as your thumbprint, but there are a few "basic", non-negotiable steps everyone must take to heal their metabolism and to ensure that the body is happy and healthy in order for the process of fat loss to take place.

•1) Water makes up 75% of our muscle fiber and 90% of our blood volume. When it comes to fat loss our liver requires water to convert stored fat into energy. Hydrating ourselves sufficiently throughout the day helps to accelerate the repair of muscle damage and the liver's ability to process fat efficiently.

Setting a goal is easy, achieving it is not. The New Year inspires goal-setting unlike any other time of the year, especially goal-setting with health based objectives. Fitness facilities, supplement companies, and the authors of endless diet books make a fortune at the start of each new year because of the promises that millions of Americans make to themselves to improve their health and wellness. Those same entities continue to make a fortune throughout the year based on the assumption that most of those goals will never be reached. Sad but true.

There is no question that many of life's most rewarding experiences require a significant amount of hard work. Just consider the following: earning a college degree, marriage, raising children, maintaining lifelong friendships, saving enough money to work a little less as you age, and maintaining a fitness level that allows you to do all of the activities you enjoy throughout life. To be sure, these things require effort and attention every single day.

Accountability is the backbone of the entire Genesis Transformation process. It defines the role of the coach as much as it names the end point of a client's journey, a journey that begins with the coach holding the client accountable but ends with the client holding themselves accountable. Genesis Transformation teaches all who embark that "accountability" is at the heart of living an empowered life. It is not dreaming, or thinking or wishing about "doing the thing" that makes us successful. It is having the intention and the follow through that leads us to be our greater selves.

I was at the gym the other day, pushing my post-pregnancy butt through a challenging weight routine, and I couldn't help but notice that I was the only woman in the weight room...again! Now, being the only woman in a male dominated environment means I never have to wait in line for equipment, as the age-old rule of "ladies first" seems to be respected nicely, but it always depresses my personal trainer heart to realize that women are still afraid to assert their right to utilize a space that is as much theirs as anyone else's.

Knowing how to properly align your body, not just during your workouts, but in all of your daily activities, is an invaluable skill. The less pressure you put on your joints and the more balanced your musculature is, the less susceptible you become to injuries that are inconvenient and painful. Like learning any new skill, changing your body's mechanics takes practice, patience and more practice. Below are a list of basic questions you can ask yourself repeatedly throughout the day to help you begin bringing more awareness to your body and your alignment habits.

Understand that your body is a complicated machine. It has many levels of functionality in a very systematic system. It has glands, blood circulation, breathing apparatus, heart beat pulsation, a brain, nervous system, endocrinal system, and a hormonal system. Your body is a functional system.

Ah....'tis the season to be tempted by hoards of food that just don't seem to fit into your newly adopted clean eating lifestyle.
